Position Overview

Seeking a Systems Engineer with demonstrated experience in systems engineering concepts and defense acquisition. This position is responsible for developing Distributed Mission Training (DMT) for a variety of military aircraft platforms (e.g., F-18, F-35, E-2D, H-60). The candidate will identify system of systems participants, identify and manage system requirements, collaborate with USN/USMC training systems, USN/USMC platform, and other constituent systems' systems engineers.

Description

Responsibilities:

    Facilitate the Distributed Mission Training (DMT) development for a variety of military aircraft platforms (e.g., F-18, F-35, E-2D, H-60).
  • Monitor each platform's progress via daily communications, TIMs, and testing events and facilitate the connection of each platform into their DMT environment.
  • Support analyses and studies for requirements development, engineering feasibility, system affordability, reliability, maintainability, testability, systems integration, vulnerability, and susceptibility.
  • Support and evaluate customer/operational need to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional requirements.
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Electronics, Computer, Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Systems, or Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Experience with F-35 interoperability.
  • Ten (10) years of practical experience in systems engineering associated with modeling and simulation within the training and training systems domains.
  • Five (5) years of acquisition experience, with three (3) years in a DoD program directly supporting Training and/or Training Systems Acquisition.
  • Five (5) years of experience with support engineering functions such as reliability, maintainability, EMI, logistics, program funding, statistics, facilities, cost estimating, risk analysis/assessment, and human factors.
  • Five (5) years of experience with current and future military equipment, systems, and associated tactics (U.S., allied, and threat nations).
  • Five (5) years of experience with a wide range of non-engineering, non-scientific information in the form of Federal Acquisition Regulations, Military Standards, Department of the Navy (DON)/DoD/NA VAIR policies, directives, and instructions.
  • U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret clearance required. The selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Desired:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Detail oriented; experienced in organizing and prioritizing tasks.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products to include: Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience utilizing software tools for engineering is desired. Ability to adapt to evolving technology.

Security Clearance

This position will require U.S. citizenship with a current Top Secret clearance.
