Job Brief

As the Manufacturing Manager, you will manage the manufacturing of Det Cord and/or PETN and support the Graham, KY Plant. You will be a value Stream owner responsible for driving continuous improvement to reach future state.

What You'll Do

As the Manufacturing Manager, you will manage the manufacturing of Det Cord and/or PETN and support the Graham, KY Plant. You will be a value Stream owner responsible for driving continuous improvement to reach future state. Other duties include:

  • Promote, foster and demand an environment of Zero Harm through coaching and leading by example - SAFETY as the NUMBER 1 PRIORITY!
  • Ensure compliance with applicable HSE performance standards, objectives and regulations
  • Lives and fosters the IPL values
  • Value Stream Owner and responsible for the continuous improvement of the process to achieve future state.
  • Supports Business Improvement initiatives and ensures participation from all areas of responsibility.
  • Direct activities in area of responsibility to attain maximum plant operating efficiency, product rate and product quality
  • Track plant operating KPI's - efficiency, energy usage, on stream time, cost/ton, production, environmental compliance, customer complaints, etc.
  • Manage operation within approved budget for controllable costs. Participate in annual budget process and develop budget for plants within areas of responsibility.
  • Write or participate in developing CEP's for annual CAPEX spending.
  • Manages and ensures personnel are trained and safe in operation.
  • Maintain good personnel relations by explaining company goals and policies.
  • Facilitate all personnel actions as required (scheduling, recognition and reward, discipline, performance reviews, etc.)
  • Conduct communication meetings.
  • Makes daily inspection of proper operation and condition of plant process and equipment. Ensures all units and areas are kept in clean and orderly fashion. Takes necessary action to correct and complement findings.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in a Science, Business Management or Engineering discipline required.
  • 3+ years demonstrated management skills in an industrial/manufacturing environment

  • 5+ years (combined) in one or more of the following industries: energetic materials, chemical refining, or technical manufacturing

  • Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma knowledge preferred

  • Ability to troubleshoot issues in all of the various processes associated with manufacturing.

  • Ability to interact and discuss issues with regulatory compliance officials.

  • Ability to provide direction and coaching to others in an effective leadership manner

  • Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives.
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
