POSITION SUMMARY

The Citrix Systems Engineer will be part of an experienced team of IT Professionals who are responsible for new builds, patching and application management for all components of a Citrix infrastructure. The Engineer will also participate in analyzing data to recognize trends and create automated proactive measures to update and improve the environment. Provide second and third level end-user support and mentor members of other support teams. This position will work closely with other members of Ardent Information Technology teams to support the overall mission of the company and its long-term strategic business initiatives.


Responsibilities

  • Participate in Citrix related work to accomplish the common goals of the organization
  • Architect and Design enterprise wide application delivery solutions
  • Follow policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Implement new technologies and verify that all procedural documentation is accurate, and that knowledge transfer from the engineering team is completed prior to any technology being placed in the production environment
  • Implement enterprise level strategic projects, meeting deadlines, and accomplishing project action items
  • Citrix SME supporting over 1,600 Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop servers, Citrix StoreFront, Citrix PVS, and NetScaler Access Gateway across multiple Active Directory Forests and Domains with approximately 16,000 concurrent users
  • Ensure that proper operating procedures are adhered to during the full lifecycle of all Citrix related services throughout the enterprise including documentation, server builds, server maintenance, monitoring, support, refresh/upgrades, and decommission
  • Administer data within corporate change, problem management and request systems; monitor assignments and completion of efforts documented in these systems; and properly escalate issues to management
  • Install various types of software including operating systems and applications on a variety of hardware platforms including system updates, patches, and configuration changes
  • Analyze monitoring data to recognize trends and create proactive solutions to prevent recurring issues
  • Maintain operations of enterprise shared services and assist application teams as needed
  • Facilitate training, coaching, and mentoring of team members to promote their skills development
  • Serve as level 3/4 support of all Citrix related infrastructure services utilizing the incident management ticketing system

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an IT concentration OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 4+ years of professional experience in information technology

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High-level knowledge of Citrix Software solutions including Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix StoreFront, Citrix PVS, and NetScaler Access Gateway
  • High-level knowledge of all versions of Microsoft Server OS's
  • Working knowledge of core infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP, IIS, AD group policies, File Services, etc.)
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex problems
