The opportunity

The Transcarotid Artery Revascularization (TCAR) procedure is a minimally invasive treatment option to treat carotid artery disease and help prevent stroke. In addition to the clinical performance of the therapy itself, a key driver of market adoption will require a fundamental shift in the well-established treatment algorithms for carotid artery disease. Through the strategic establishment of local and regional TCAR Programs, Silk Road Medical's (SRM) therapy awareness program aims to generate pull-through demand for the TCAR Procedure due to increased community awareness and physician education.

The Sr. Therapy Awareness Manager will be responsible for key therapy awareness and education management initiatives to drive TCAR therapy adoption:

  1. Training & partnering with the field team to incorporate and implement appropriate therapy awareness and educational initiatives.
  2. Collaborating with TCAR accounts to assist with their marketing and educational efforts.
  3. Customizing educational assets and collateral as part of a comprehensive therapy awareness toolkit.
  4. Managing and delivering Silk Road Medical's education programs ensuring that all programs meet objectives, targets and program delivery excellence. Responsibilities include direct management of attendee management, faculty management, and logistics.
  5. Success will require a creative mindset and an ability to adapt to local conditions and requirements.

This is a field-based position.

A "Day in the life"

  • Lead the implementation of therapy awareness and education through engagement with SRM field team and SRM faculty.
  • Partner with field sales team in qualifying, identifying, and selecting programs to maximize therapy awareness impact.
  • Foster strong relationships with key physicians and hospital staff to understand their medical practice, patient pathway patterns, and patient demographics as it relates to carotid revascularization.
  • Develop customized strategies for targeted programs to meet therapy awareness needs by leveraging existing programs and developing new solutions that are scalable.
  • Partner with champion physicians to develop educational events (physician network dinners, grand rounds, health fairs) to raise physician network awareness of the clinical benefits of the TCAR procedure.
  • Partner closely with Area teams to augment education delivery approaches based on their specific needs, e.g., local vs centralized educational programs.
  • Coordinate with the field sales team, internal SRM departments, hospital marketing departments, and local media outlets to customize and distribute therapy awareness tools.
  • Track and measure impact of therapy awareness activities.
  • Comply with all regulatory and clinical requirements in educational materials and messaging.
  • Maintain, strengthen, and develop new/existing KOL/Preceptor relationships with relevant key clinicians.
  • Working closely with designated Sales partners to understand the needs of the various health professionals and implement new programs or program elements in line with the broad learning strategy that best serve our stakeholders to optimize performance during the TCAR procedure. In collaboration with others in Office of Medical Affairs, works to ensure personal and company compliance with all Federal, State, local and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
  • Planning and coordinating other projects that contribute to the accomplishment of the educational goals and objectives of Silk Road Medical.
  • Responsible for adhering to all legal, regulatory and HCC policies to including AdvaMed, Pharma, ACCME, Sunshine Act, etc.
  • Perform other related duties as requested.

What you'll bring

  • 6+ years of therapy awareness, market development, marketing, and/or clinical management experience in the healthcare industry, preferably working with vascular and/or stroke specialists.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Analytical skills to track, measure, and report on campaign effectiveness and ROI.
  • Professional work ethic and ability to operate independently in an organized fashion.
  • Social media savvy, especially Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
  • Excellent collaboration skills required.
  • Ability to work effectively with peers, both internally and externally.
  • Must demonstrate strong commercial and business acumen.
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks to meet strict deadlines.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat required.
