Responsibilities

Dietary AIDE/ASST., Rates Start $15.00 per hour

Natchez Trace Youth Academy, a Universal Health Services, Inc. company has a long history in providing comprehensive behavioral health care services to at-risk youth struggling with extensive mental health issues. Our facility is accredited by the (CARF) Healthcare, of which recognize a commitment to measuring quality and standards of care. Natchez Trace Youth Academy is a highly-structured 115-bed cognitive behavioral program serving adolescent males ages 10-17 years old. Our interdisciplinary staff helps residents refocus their thinking patterns in order to improve their actions/behavior. Our diverse team works together to facilitate the changes that become an investment in the future of each young man's life and his family's life. We are located in the beautiful hills of Tennessee between two magnificent rivers, just 15 miles south of Waverly, Tennessee. Our spacious grounds occupy over 120 acres and include athletic fields, and alpine tower.

Natchez Trace Youth Academy is seeking a Dietary AIDE/ASST., In accordance with the responsibiliies below. This individual will work in a team environment to prepare and serve appealing meals for residents, staff, and guests, while adhering to the company's Service Excellence standards. This is a non-benefits eligible position.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepares meals in accordance with the menu and ensures proper preparation, portioning, and serving of foods in a safe and sanitary manner.
  • Follows the residents' dietary restrictions requirements and substitutes appropriate foods/beverages accordingly
  • Assumes responsibility for proper food handling and utilization of all foods to prevent contamination, improve quality and reduce cost.
  • Sets up food service line and workstations with the needed condiments and ensures all required condiments and garnishes are served with the appropriate foods.
  • Assists in special events and functions.
  • Keeps stock room, coolers, freezers, walk-ins and all hot boxes clean. Ensures that all foods are properly labeled, dated and stored appropriately.
  • Maintains kitchen cleanliness and proper food preparation according to state and local health department code requirements and departmental procedures.
  • Keeps food waste to a minimum by utilizing food storage and food recycling techniques and procedures.
  • Prefer knowledge of equipment usage including (not an all-inclusive list): stoves, ovens, steamer, fryer, grill, electric mixer, dishwashing machines, microwave, food charts.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalency required
  • Minimum three months' related experience and/or training
  • Valid state Driver's License
