Licensing Requirements:
- First Aid/CPR & AED Certification
KNOWLEDGE (position requirements at entry):
Knowledge of:- Developing recreational programs and administering programs within a community center;
- Customer service principles;
- Computers and related software applications including the department's recreation management software program.
SKILLS (position requirements at entry):
Skill in:
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing;
- Command of basic arithmetic;
- Possessing and displaying resourcefulness and responsibility;
- Working independently and following instructions;
- Supervising and interacting well with children, adults, and patrons of all ability levels;
- Planning, developing, and managing programs and/or events;
- Providing customer service;
- Preparing and maintaining records and reports;
- Communications, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to extreme temperatures and blood borne pathogens. May be required to work early morning, nights, weekends, and holidays.
